Feel free to reply and ask questions about the forum here!

Q: How do Attachments work?  How can I post them?

A: Attachments work by attaching a file to the bottom of the post.  Attachments right now are limited to 2MB in size.  Clicking on the text link will download it while clicking on the image itself will show the full size in the forum (there's no loading progress bar, you just have to wait.  It'll suddenly change).  Posting attachments is under "Additional Options" on the posting screen.

What are the size restrictions on avatar images? What are the size restrictions on signature images? I also humbly suggest adding answers to these questions to the profile modification page.

The size restrictions are in the rules.  They are fairly loose limits, and the forum will change avatar size for you.

Is there a way to stop my avatar being forced into a 125x125 square, even if it's smaller than that?

Since my 80x80 avatar looks just fine - are you linking to your avatar via the URL field in the settings?

If so, the forum has no way of telling just how big your avatar is, and will just add a width and height of 125 to the image tag for it. If you upload it to the forum, on the other hand, it can examine the image and use the correct size.

You might also consider using an image editor like the GIMP to create a transparent background layer that's 125x125 and then paste your icon onto it.
